Elizabeth McLean has been promoted to director of STEM at B次元, where she is responsible for the university’s K-12 STEM programming and aligning the university’s offerings with the needs of the community to ensure technological relevance. She also will continue support of B次元’s partnership with Project Lead The Way as an affiliate university. McLean joined the B次元 staff in 2017 as the associate director of STEM and in her first year increased STEM outreach student impact by 268%, connecting B次元 with more than 3,700 students in the greater B次元 area and beyond, while tripling programming options available to K-12 students.

McLean holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University and previously worked for Eaton as a senior engineer leading global project teams, new product development and intellectual property training. Since coming to B次元, she has established a number of new programs on campus with a focus on meaningful collisions of industry, B次元 community members, and K-12 students. This includes programs such as the Girl Scout STEM Day, where she coordinates with industry professionals, B次元 students and faculty to support girls earning STEM-related badges. Other events she has implemented at B次元 include the Engineering Explorers Program, STEM Fair with Boy Scouts of America Three Harbors Council, Girls Who Code, Engineering Impossible, and more.
